Chapter Fifteen

“As much as I like to see you naked all the time, I don’t want you to be cold. You can wear my bathrobe if you want. It’s hanging on a hook in the bathroom.”

She giggled. “It is kinda chilly in here,” she said running into the other room. It was Sunday afternoon and spending the weekend with Charmaine had been intoxicating.

She came back wearing his bathrobe. The arms were too long and the whole thing swallowed her, giving her a “Dopey” appearance. Whatever makeup she’d had on had worn off during their escapades, but she looked more beautiful than ever. He’d never had a submissive before, and he found the experience quite intoxicating.

He sat down in his recliner and patted his lap for her to come sit down. She tiptoed across the room and settled herself in his lap. Hugging her to him he asked, “What was that you were doing walking on your tiptoes? You remind me of a ballerina.” he teased.

She laughed. “No, I’ve always done that, walked on my toes, ever since I could walk.”

“No kidding?”

“Yeah. I think it helps me be able to wear really high heels, because I’m used to putting all my weight on the balls of my feet. Someone once told me it’s some sort of brain damage, but I don’t know. Maybe that’s what’s wrong with me.” She smiled.

He laughed. “There’s nothing wrong with you.”

She pulled back. “Tell that to my parents.”

“What’s the deal with your parents? I don’t know much about your dad except that he’s super rich and has been married lots of times. And I don’t know anything about your mom except that you’re staying at her place. Where is she?”

“Some hokey retreat out west. Her latest thing is ‘spirituality’ and she’s all into the healing clay or something. I think she’s in Taos or somewhere near there. A few years ago she connected with her past lives in California. She’s a flake.”

“Spirituality doesn’t sound like a bad thing.”

“The way my mother does it—it is. Everything she touches turns to crap. She’s a selfish, manipulative woman who’s been jealous of me since the day I was born. She regrets having me, she said that to my face when I was ten. Something like that, you don’t forget.”

“I’m sorry.” He stroked her hair. “What about your dad, is he any better?”

“That’s a good question. Kinda like asking which is worse—the Wicked Witch of the West or Darth Vader.”

“That bad, huh?”

“Yeah. He’s here in Dallas, which might be worse because he’s always trying to inflict his other families on me.”

“You mean his other kids?”

“Oh yeah all seven of them and his ex-wives. Most of them hang around. They don’t leave like my mom, and they all act like one big, happy family. It’s scary, kinda like a cult.”

“Wow. So your dad has eight kids?”

“Yeah, my life is fucked up. How about yours?”

“Maybe not quite so fucked up, but everybody has family crap, Kitten. My dad’s dead. He was a firefighter too, died when I was nine.
