Chapter Seven

Ryan had spent the better part of the day ignoring Colt. Unfortunately, he needed the job more than he desired to quit and tell Colt the man was an asshole. He pretended to be unaffected, but knew he was likely failing. The sex the night before had been earth-shattering. It had changed Ryan. All he could think about was Colt touching him again and again. If that had been the first time, what would subsequent times be like?

Maybe it’s for the best. You’re not gay, remember?

Ryan shook his head, knowing he was too deep into it to deny it anymore. He might not be attracted to other men, but he was attracted to Colt. He was almost ready to beg the man for another round or ten. His ass was still sore from the paddle, and yet, all he could think about was another paddling. His anus was tender, yet all he could think of was Colt’s cock spearing him wide.

He’d walked around all day with a hard-on that wouldn’t let up, which made him feel ashamed. Colt had clearly gotten what he wanted and walked away. Ryan had done that a few times himself, when he was younger and dumber, never truly considering how it had made those women feel. Now he knew. It was terrible.

Even with the silence between them, they worked well together. The reason it had been so silent was Colt seemed to expect his needs and was ready and willing to jump in at the exact moment Ryan needed him. It almost seemed that Colt could read his mind.

If only Ryan had the same ability, so he’d have seen this coming. If he’d known Colt would take and then cut him at the knees, he would’ve ignored the desire he felt. He was weak. He’d given in to the desire he’d felt, even though he’d heard the rumors about wild sex with multiple partners when it came to the three owners of JLC Construction.

At least the job was quickly coming to an end. Once it was over, he could avoid Colt like the plague. Ryan pulled on his hazard gear before flipping on his blowtorch. He worked quickly with the flame, putting the equipment down once done. He held on to the two ends of the pipe and needed assistance tightening the elbow. Colt, for once, seemed oblivious.

“Can you help over here?”

Colt lowered the wrench he was holding and then cried out in pain. Ryan dropped the pipes and turned to see Ryan holding his hand, his face showing pain.

“What did you do?”

Colt hissed in pain. “I hit the side of my hand against the fucking blowtorch.”

Ryan rose quickly and grabbed Colt’s wrist. The burn wasn’t terrible, but bad enough to need some attention. “Come on. I’ve got a first-aid kit in my truck.”

Colt followed Ryan outside. Ryan opened his driver’s side door and urged Colt to sit on the seat before pulling his kit out of his metal toolbox attached inside the pick-up bed.
