Chapter Fourteen

Shane didn’t protest when Noel rolled him onto his stomach and straddled his thighs. Noel’s soft cock rested between his ass cheeks, a pleasant reminder of where it had been a few minutes earlier, pounding him to orgasm. Shane twisted his head, curious what Noel was up to back there.

“Relax, cowboy.” Noel’s big hands pressed into Shane’s shoulders, a steady weight that became a slow massage. He worked his shoulders inch by inch, into the spine, then back out again.

Shane closed his eyes and let out something like a purr.

I do not deserve him.

Noel had come over a little after three, as promised, and they’d immediately made good use of Shane’s bedroom. Shane had intended to utilize every minute of the two-ish hours they had together before Jason came home, and he’d practically demanded that Noel fuck him. He’d needed it after yesterday—for Noel to reclaim him.

And he’d done it with vigor. Now he was giving Shane a massage, and the day couldn’t have been more perfect.

The massage traveled down the length of Shane’s spine, waking up nerves while relaxing muscles. Noel trailed lighter fingertips across his hips.

“Where’d these come from?” Noel asked.

“What?” Shane knew exactly what but he played dumb anyway. He had done his very best to avoid getting marked yesterday. The only thing he’d managed to avoid completely was anyone kissing him on the mouth. He still kept that only for Noel.

“Bruises.”

“Oh. I slipped at Mineo’s on Saturday. Someone forgot to warn me they’d spilled some grease on the floor and hadn’t cleaned it up yet.”

“Ouch.”

“Tell me about it.” Lying to Noel stabbed him through the heart. He hated doing it. Hated that the bruises existed at all. The only person he wanted marking him was Noel. Those marks he enjoyed. Like the bruise he’d sucked onto Shane’s collarbone shortly after arriving.

Noel kept up the massage until Shane was goo in his hands, warm and pliant and ready to promise him anything he wanted. He tried to say so but all that came out was a sigh and a groan.

“I think he likes it,” Noel said.

“Mumph.”

He chuckled, then leaned down and kissed the back of Shane’s neck. “You looked like you needed that.”

“Oh yeah. Just don’t expect one in return right now. I can’t move.”

“Rain check.” Noel rolled off and stretched out next to Shane, on his stomach.

Shane shifted a bit so he could smile at Noel. He could get used to seeing Noel like this. In bed with him. Waking up or falling asleep, it didn’t matter.

My Hot Cop.

They hadn’t talked at any length since the previous night’s phone call, and Shane was curious. “How are you doing with what happened with Tristan?”

Noel exhaled hard. “I don’t know. I called Benfield when I woke up today. He had an appointment with his therapist to talk about it, but Tristan wouldn’t take my call. I hate that he’s blocking me out.”

Shane brushed his knuckles across Noel’s cheek, wishing he knew how to make this better. Noel leaned into the touch, eyelids fluttering.
