I think I may have made a colossal mistake. There is something…terrifying about finally being offered what you’ve been wishing for. I never lie to myself, and by extension you, so I’m going to share what has happened.

I don’t want the very future and things I’ve been telling myself all this time.

It sounds so stupid, and I feel anger pulsing through me just reading the words. But it’s true. You know how they say, “be careful what you wish for”? I should have listened. I thought I wanted a love that couldn’t be denied. Faithfulness that I couldn’t walk away from, and would leave me feeling more secure than I ever have in my life. So, what’s the hold up, when my shifter pairing has given me a real possibility? I don’t trust it. There, I said it. In the world, I’ve learned the fat girl has to settle, she has to accept what scraps tossed her way, and as much as I’ve learned to love myself, in every way, I cannot believe that someone else will love me like that. My pure incredulous response both confuses and pushes away the very thing I want.
