I’m that guy.

Or rather, I should say, I WAS that guy.

You know the one. The typical red-blooded sexist male pig.

The one who wolf whistles in the street when a gorgeous girl walks past, or shouts some filthy comment from his car window when he’s driving past. If I was a construction worker I would definitely be the one hanging over the scaffold bawling “Hey sexy” at the big titted blonde crossing the street below.

In my defence, it really isn’t my fault I’m like that. Sorry, was like that.

I picked it all up from my dad.

He was from a time when the man ruled the house and the woman had the babies. He had little if any respect for my mother and even an innocent question such as when he would be home from the pub would result in a swift backhand to the mouth.

Now I’ve NEVER hit a woman, but I’ve never found any reason to treat them with respect either.

That’s probably why my marriage lasted barely six months, and the longest I’ve ever been able to keep a girlfriend has been barely a year. I just can’t seem to stop flirting and making passes at the other sex. It’s like an obsession.

But all of that changed last week.

Even now I can’t really believe it happened as it seems so ridiculous when I write it down, but it did, and it changed my views towards women forever.

It all started because of Len, that’s my best mate.

It was your typical scorching hot summer Saturday afternoon, and I’d spent most of it lying around my flat in my underwear trying to keep cool. I’d been to the supermarket the night before and invested in re-stocking my fridge with beer, but because of the heat I’d already made a significant dent in it by the time Len rang around 4pm.

I picked up my ringing mobile from the table next to me and pressed call answer.

“Alright Scott?” Len said on the other end.

“Yeah fine mate, what you up to?”

“Nothing really, just wondering if you fancied a few beers down at The Prince Regent. Nice day to sit out in the beer garden.”

“Sounds like a plan mate. See you down there in about an hour.”

“No worries. See you then” and he hung up. An hour gave me time to go for a shower and freshen up. It was so warm though that it took me another 15 minutes just to work up the energy to climb out of my armchair. I had a nice cool shower and changed into some clean shorts and a t-shirt and headed out the door about 45 minutes later. It was only a short walk to the pub, and when I got there Len was already sat outside with half a beer left. He was slouched in his chair checking out the lovely round ass of one of a group of five women sat at a table nearby. From what I could tell from their thick accents they we’re from somewhere in Eastern Europe.
