When I divorced from my husband two years ago, I thought that my sex life was pretty much over.

I was in my mid-forties by then, and to be perfectly honest, I had become complacent with regards to the condition I kept myself in. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I was still an attractive woman (or at least I thought so). I still had the lovely, blond wavy hair I had kept since I was young, but if truth be told, I had put on a few pounds. My husband always said that it never bothered him and he still found me as sexy as the day we married, and it would have been our 25th anniversary this year had he not fucked that dirty little tramp of a secretary of his. Of course, as soon as I found out she was pregnant I threw his cheating scumbag arse out into the street. All of my friends were wonderful, rallying around me, taking me out on nights out and suggesting all sorts of ways to meet a new man (and inviting me to enlightening hot tub parties.)

At first I just contented myself with buying a vibrator to help satisfy my more intimate urges, but for the past six months I have been starting to seriously think about meeting someone else. There are a few nice men whom I’m friendly with. Jim who walks his cocker spaniel Minty in the park every morning is nice enough, but just a bit too “wet” if you know what I mean. And Sam who I’m quite friendly with down at the bowling club is a nice guy too, and we have actually had a date in the past, but he talks too much and is a messy eater, which puts me right off. I never even considered using a dating site before either, but when my son Darian suggested it while on the phone to him one evening, I started to think that maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

“Well you know mum, there are plenty of people as old as you out there looking for a fling in their final years” he suggested jokingly.

“You cheeky beggar, I’m not that old!!” I shot back with feigned indignation. Darian always knew how to cheer me up when I was feeling down and the house had been a much quieter place since he had left for university the year before. He hadn’t wanted to leave me on my own with me having just recently split from his dad, but I insisted I would be fine and besides, he was always a call away and my daughter Stacey lived nearby in case I needed anything anyway.

“Tell you what mum, I’m coming home for a few days next week as its half term, why don’t we look online then and see if we can bag you a geriatric?”

“You’ll be sleeping in the shed with that attitude my boy” I retorted.

“He he, you know I love you really mum.
