Chapter Six

Maya didn’t know how much time passed before Zack eased his fingers out of her and stood. Still reeling from her climax, her breaths too shallow to fill her lungs, she leaned against the door. Who knew remaining upright could be a continuing struggle?

She opened her eyes and watched him peel off his T-shirt. It joined her pile of ruined clothing, followed soon after by his jeans and briefs. She licked her lips as she catalogued his defined chest and shoulders, the toned shape of his arms, and the shadowed ridges lining his abdomen, averting her gaze after she passed his navel.

“Like what you see?” His crooked grin belied his confidence.

Suspecting which body part he meant, she took a deep breath and continued her scrutiny. Filled with blood, his penis was much darker than the rest of him, with prominent veins snaking toward the engorged head. With an arched eyebrow, she reached forward and traced the ridge with her index finger, frowning when the appendage grew even larger.

A drop of moisture emerged from the very tip. He brushed it with the pad of his index finger before taking a step closer. He caught her chin with his other hand and pressed his wet digit against her lower lip. “I asked you a question.”

Displaying a bravado she hadn’t known she possessed, she snaked out her tongue to taste. Then she favored his sculpted body with a slow, sweeping gaze and batted her eyelashes. “This is me—falling at your feet.”

He sighed. “You’re hard to impress. Do you know how many hours of pain and suffering this took?” He made a circular motion around his chest.

She shrugged. “You didn’t exactly do it for my benefit.” Jealousy, inexplicable and unwanted, hindered her appreciation.

He placed his hands on either side of her head. This close, she could see beads of sweat forming at his temples. “Practice makes perfect. And yes, I’ve had quite a bit of that since the last time we kissed.”

She licked her lips. “While we’re on this topic….”

He pressed his thumb over her lips. “I don’t expect you to still be a virgin—”

She swallowed. That was going to be problematic.

“—but it’s probably best you don’t tell me about all your past boyfriends at this particular moment.”

It wouldn’t take long, considering the list’s brevity. She lifted her chin. “So what happened to you not kissing me?”

“You won.” He bent his neck, bringing his lips a breath away from hers. “And so did I.”

He captured her mouth as his hands lowered to palm her breasts. Pinching her nipples, he silenced her moans with his kiss. Already over-sensitized, she arched her back into his hold. A deep-seated yearning clawed at her belly. Damp heat spread once more between her thighs. Pleasure and pain coiled into a rope of ecstasy, winding tighter with each skilled caress. Her toes curled, her inner-muscles spasmed. Not yet ready for another complete surrender, she flattened her hands against his chest and pushed, the effort so weak it might as well be an invitation.
