Needy, hard, and irritated as fuck, I toss the covers back and sit up in bed. I woke up about an hour ago, ready to pull Indie under me and give her another orgasm.

I don’t know when she left, but it had to be late. Or really early, depending on how you look at it.

“You’re up early,” I say as I grab a mug from the cabinet.

He nods around a spoon full of cereal. After he swallows it down, he says, “The office should be empty today and I want to get an early start on my edits. The sooner I get the final draft done, the sooner I can get the hell out of there and away from Lulu.”

I cringe at the thought of having to see the woman I thought I loved every day after catching her cheating on me. “I take it she’s making no effort to stay away from you.”

“Not in the least.” He drops his head back and groans while I pour myself a cup of coffee. “The bitch thinks we can be friends. She’s fucking crazy.”

“She does get how fucked up what she did is, right?”

Leaning against the counter, I cross my feet at the ankles and take a sip from my mug. It makes me feel marginally better about the fact that I woke up alone.

Donnie stares at the space in front of him for a moment before he answers me. “You know, I don’t think she does. The woman sees the world very differently than me. There’s no black and white for her.
