Chapter 20

Alize stormed down her hallway, pissed that Marco didn’t even have the decency to call her and let her know just where the fuck he was at. She checked the time on her iced out Rolex watch and rolled her eyes at the ceiling. Pissed and on fire, she kicked off a shoe and hurled it. It struck a mirror that hung on the wall of the narrow hallway. The blow was so powerful, the mirror shattered to pieces.

“This bitch don’t know who the fuck he is messin’ wit,” she mumbled under her breath as she dialed his number again and like before, she received no answer. “Ugh,” she moaned in disappointment.

She stomped her foot in anger. She took off her other shoe and stomped into the living room and plopped down on the living room sofa. She huffed a little. She wondered just where the fuck he could be. The vibration of her cell phone rocked her out of her thoughts. She rolled her eyes a little in disappointment when she realized the caller was Shay.

“What the fuck this bitch want,” she mumbled arrogantly. “Hello,” she answered the phone with a lot of attitude.

“Ah Alize, it’s me, Shay.”

“I know who the fuck it is. What the fuck do you want?”

There was a long pause before Shay finally answered. “Well, your brother Malik is in the hospital. He’s been shot and it’s not looking very good. No one has been able to get a hold of Mr. Porter or your mom so . . . I thought you guys would want to know.” Shay’s voice began to crack.

A tinge of sadness tainted Alize’s heart but only temporarily. In her mind, Malik still chose Shay over her. She sighed before she finally answered without a hint of compassion in her voice. “I’m on my way,” she simply replied before she hung up the phone without giving Shay a chance to respond.

She really didn’t want to go. At this point, Malik could honestly go to hell for all she cared. The only reason she figured she would show face is because her prom date was M.I.A., and there was no way she was going to prom without a date. She was too fly for that shit.

After taking a shower and changing into some street clothes, she was set and ready to go. She checked her appearance in the mirror and smiled. “I’m a bad bitch,”

she mumbled to herself as she grabbed her purse and headed back downstairs.

It was a little past eight and she knew visiting hours were probably over but she wasn’t fazed. She just wanted to go and make an appearance so if some funny shit were to go down, the cops wouldn’t look at her suspiciously. She checked her phone again and still no word from Marco. A hard frown creased her forehead.

Knock! Knock!

Alize jumped a little from the hard and loud banging on her front door. At first, she thought it might be Marco but that seemed so out of character for him.
