Several hours later, Iris knew she was in trouble when she found herself content to watch a naked, muscular Lincoln walk around his bedroom tidying up their clothes that had gone flying the moment they barricaded themselves in his house.
Lincoln wasnât alone in his nudity though. The only thing she was wearing at the moment was the Walker family heirloom on her ring finger.
She sighed and wished sheâd thought of food sooner. Making love was such a lovely and decadent way to start an evening. If theyâd stopped for takeout on the way here, there would be no need for them to get dressed at all tonight.
âI see youâre very neat,â Iris observed.
Lincoln chuckled. âHabits and early training. Maura Walker could never stand a mess. Iâm the product of her insistence on having a tidy house.â
âMy mum is tidy too, but more in a homey, shoes-can-stay-under-the-side-table kind of way. Personally, I like things clean, but I donât care when things get messy now and again.â
Lincoln lifted an eyebrow. âWant me to toss your clothes back on the floor to make you feel more at home?â
Iris laughed and narrowed her eyes. âNo, Iâm quite spoiled to finding my pretty undies properly folded and placed on top of the pants you stripped off of me to have your way with my body.â
Lincoln chuckled as he finished gathering up their clothing. âCleaning up gives me something to do when I get restless.â
âYou should be relaxed after shagging. Whatâs making you restless?â Iris asked.
Lincoln turned to look at her quizzically. âShaggingâoh, right.â He laughed at her term and lifted a shoulder. âOnce is never enough for me. The urge I have to keep you in bed all evening has me strung tight.â He lifted a hand to her. âIt doesnât make it easy to be noble when youâre smiling in approval all the time. And I donât think Iâve ever met a woman more comfortable in her own skin.â
Iris giggled. âYouâre so funny. Have you ever thought perhaps all your soul-searching and angst are wasted energy? I like knowing you still want me, Lincoln. I still want you too. Of course, youâll have to feed me at some point because sex with you takes a lot of energy. And is my naked pride any more surprising than your own?â
Lincoln looked down at himself. âI forgot I was still naked. Iâm too used to being alone.â
Iris belly laughed and shook her head. Her blond hair swished against her bare back. âIf you were expecting me to remind you to get dressed, that was never happening. I quite enjoyed watching the naked Lincoln show.â
He wadded up her blouse and threw it at her. âI told you I hadnât had a real relationship in two years.â
Iris caught the shirt and laughed as she folded it. âI wasnât teasing. But I have to say that your celibacy story was far more believable before you threw me onto your sturdy kitchen table and ravished me.â
âIâd like to ravish you a hundred more times,â Lincoln said.
