12: Ground Rules

Panic set in as she said that. Shit. What if she’d been turned on while we were doing the whole dirty talk thing but decided it wasn’t her thing once we were out of the moment. That helped me feel better. Just a little. I guess the end of our relationship wasn’t upon us. Not yet at least. Not because of tonight, though I was keenly aware of how possible it was that this whole thing could still blow up in our faces. For now though all I felt was relief.

“Yeah, that probably is a good idea,” I said.

She sat back and stared at the ceiling. I looked at her, light from a streetlamp outside my window reflecting on her in lined pattern from the blinds that were open slightly. She looked like an angel. She looked absolutely beautiful. Absolutely perfect. She was my sweet and innocent fiancée, and yet I wanted nothing more than for her to be the exact opposite of sweet and innocent. That thought was enough to make my cock stir and take notice.

“So how long has this been a thing for you?” she asked.

I shrugged. “It’s weird. I mean, I never even got jealous before, and just seeing you with him last week. It sort of…”

“Set you off?”

“Yeah, I guess you could say that.”
