Chapter Six
She woke in the morning alone, sore, and conflicted about the night before. She wished she could tell herself she hadn't enjoyed the sex, but her cunt clenched at the memory of him bending her over the table. There was no sense being coy about it ... but she was still ashamed of her enjoyment. He was her captor, after all. Her enemy.
Still, if he was true to his word, she'd earned two trips out of the apartment. She had to watch out for any opportunity to get away. That was the thing to remember. Not how good his cock felt inside her, but how she might turn their "negotiations" to her advantage.
Putting her conflicted feelings aside, she showered and headed to the main room to grab the bags of clothing there. There was no harm in putting the clothes away, she decided. It might make Mr. Red trust her a little more if he thought she was acquiescing to him.
She hung up all the dresses next to his suits, then stepped back to take in the sight. It was too domestic, she thought, too much like a real couple's wardrobe. She wished he had a separate one for her things, because she didn't like the prick of satisfaction the sight gave her. He had enough of a hold over her already.
Sighing, she pulled on a floral-patterned maxi dress and went back to the main room. She let loose a yelp of surprise at the sight of the nameless thug sitting on the sofa. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you to finish primping," he said, plainly irritated. "Mr. Tessaro says I gotta take you for singing lessons."
Mr. Tessaro. It felt weird, knowing his real name. Mr. Red was unfathomable, almost inhuman. Mr. Tessaro was simply a man.
No, she reminded herself. He was a mob boss, a man who was blackmailing her. She could never lose sight of that.
"Fine," she said. "Let's go."
He stood, gesturing to the door. "Don't try nothing," he said, once again using his bulk to block the panel as he unlocked it. "Mr. Tessaro would be pretty mad if I had to hurt you."
Ally wondered exactly what the thug was authorized to do to her if she tried anything. Shuddering, she followed him out into the hallway. "What's your name?" she asked.
"Milo," he said. He shut and locked the door, then took her firmly by arm, ensuring she couldn't make a run for it. "And I ain't here to be your friend, so don't go thinking that's gonna happen if you act all sweet."
She had been considering it. She dropped the idea promptly. There was nothing remotely friendly about Milo. She'd never felt more like an inconvenience to someone in her life. "Where are we going?"
"Where I was told to take you."
That ended her attempts at conversation. Milo was more like a brick wall than a man, no doubt the reason Mr. Red picked him as a bodyguard for her. She resigned herself to being in the dark.
