Chapter Eight
There was no longer any doubt about it or question in Ryan’s mind. He really did belong to Mikos. No sense in denying it. The only thing he could do to protect himself was to keep the knowledge from Mikos as long as he could, though he thought the smug bastard probably already knew.
Ryan had been on Tygeria for a little over three months in Earthan time, and he was finally settling into a routine. A boring routine, and one that drove him up the wall, but a routine, nonetheless. Mikos woke him every morning by making love to him. Well, that part was never boring, but it didn’t last long enough. When they finished, Mikos left, usually leaving Ryan in a boneless heap, as he attended meetings and went to counsel with the king all day. That left Ryan to go back to sleep in the big bed that had finally arrived and been installed in Mikos’s room. The thing was massive, but comfortable, and Ryan snuggled back in the covers every morning and slept until Marta woke him again hours later with breakfast in bed. After he ate, he went to the bathing room and took a quick shower, unless he was sore from the night’s—and the morning’s—strenuous activities, and he needed to soak in the steaming pool that Mikos called his bath.
He had the afternoon to himself and usually spent it reading or walking in the gardens. Sometimes he wandered down to the huge weight room that the brothers had for their personal use, but if one of Mikos’s nineteen-year-old brothers was there, he didn’t go in. The two young men had only recently returned to Tygeria, after participating in the fighting in one of the far corners of the galaxy. Despite their young age by Alliance standards, they had already been soldiers for several years.
Both young men were extremely handsome, with long hair that was more golden than red. They looked older than nineteen or whatever their ages were in Tygerian time. They were always nice to Ryan and scrupulously polite, but they watched him when they thought he wasn’t looking and stared at his ass, and that made him uncomfortable. He never told Mikos, because it would only make him furious, so he just didn’t go to the gym at all much unless he could go with Mikos. Then they didn’t get much working out done before Mikos started watching his ass too and wound up snatching him up in his arms and carrying him to their bedroom for a long session of lovemaking.
He’d known before that the males of Tygeria all preferred other males, and that they especially appreciated human males, but he’d never given much thought to what that might actually mean for a human who found himself suddenly plopped down in the middle of them all. Ryan thought it must have been a bit like this on Earth back before women were treated equally. Then over the decades, women clamored for equality with men and they eventually got it.
