Chapter Seven

Massey, Texas. Home. She was finally back home. It had been a long journey, exhausting, yet rewarding and exhilarating at the same time. Victor had shown her many things about her own body she’d never known, like how much she could take when they made love and played together sexually. He never pushed her further than she could take.

Now all she had to do was ensure that, maybe, they could keep going for a while longer. Or, maybe if she was really lucky, forever.

“So,” his voice interrupted her musings. “Where do you want to go?” he asked her through the helmet mics.

“Would it be too bold of me to ask you to take me home with you?” Genny had a lot of time to think, and even more time getting to know him. She knew what she wanted. “I don’t think that I’m ready to face Rhys or Gwennie yet, so maybe you can take me home with you after we call them and let them know that I’m going to be sticking around, with you?” Yeah, Rhys might get his dick in a knot because it might upset Gwen, but honestly, Genny didn’t want to leave Victor. Not now, and hopefully he wouldn’t ask her to leave ever.

He was silent for a moment before he nodded. “I’d like that,” he said quietly. He turned them up a street and sped up a bit more as they went. Dropping a hand, he put it on her thigh and rubbed slowly. His fingers created a gentle friction on her leg that had her shifting on the seat behind him. After a time, they were leaving the town proper and heading out toward the smaller farms, which eventually would lead to the bigger ranches. Where he ended up turning was a bit of a surprise. She’d heard a rumor that the Milners had moved to be closer to their one child and were renting the place out.

She looked at the ranch and grinned. “I remember this place. The Milners are a wonderful couple. My dad’s ranch is on the south side of this one. They border. There were many days and nights that Ali and I would play with Sandy, the Milners’ only child. She’s married now, with I think three or four kids?”

Her hand tightened in his.

“Five kids at last count,” he told her. “The Milners are planning on selling soon. The rent that they get from leasing out parts of their ranch is one thing and was helping, but, as Dina put it, they aren’t getting any younger and she wants to travel a bit while the grandkids are in school. Dave’s okay with the plan.” He fell silent as he looked at the place. “I put in an offer on it about three days before I went to pick you up. No clue if they’ve accepted or countered.”

That surprised Genny a great deal. “Wait, you want to be a rancher? The four a.m. mornings, the calves being born at all hours of night? Rustlers trying to get the cattle? Wow.
