Chapter Four

“HOW’S MARRIED life, Mrs. Stiles?” Stacie asked as she closed the door to the dressing room.

Paige and Brent spent most of the evening greeting and interacting with their guests. This was the first opportunity she’d had to speak with her friend.

Paige beamed at Stacie in the mirror as she applied a fresh coat of lip-gloss. “I’ve been married for less than five hours.” She laughed.

Stacie nodded. “So what. You haven’t stopped smiling all night, and you have a glow surrounding you.”

Paige smiled and returned the cosmetic to her handbag. “It’s ahhhhmazing, Stace. I’ve been happy with Brent for a while, but nothing could’ve prepared me for this. I’m over-the-top excited. It’s pure bliss.”

Stacie turned to her friend and hugged her. “I can tell. I’m happy for both of you. You deserve this.”

“Thank you.” Paige pulled her veil off and packed it away. “Can you unzip me?”

Paige turned around, and Stacie lowered the zipper.

“Speaking of bliss. You’ve had a very content look on your face all day. It wouldn’t have anything to do with Quen, would it?”

“Finished.”

Paige turned around and arched her eyebrow at Stacie.

“What do you mean?”

“Well, the two of you haven’t taken your eyes off each other. What’s up?”

She slept with the Prince of Wales multiple times last night and a couple more this morning. She was still processing what had happened. Did she want to tell Paige? After a few seconds, she sighed.

“Was I the only one who didn’t know Quen is the frigging Prince of Wales?”

“Probably.” Paige laughed. “I almost told you when we checked in yesterday, but Brent ushered me away. Why’s that important?” Paige narrowed her eyebrows.

“Because I had sex with him…several times.” Stacie pressed her lips together.

Paige’s mouth dropped open and her eyes widened. “What? O!M!G! You’ve got to tell me all about it.” Paige sat on the chaise and patted the spot next to her as she held her dress up with her other hand.

“We don’t have time for details right now. You and Brent have a flight to catch.” Stacie looked at the clock on the wall.

“You can’t reveal something like that and not tell me. I’ll make you a deal. I’ll change and get ready. While I do, you give me the compressed version.”

Stacie blew out a semi-frustrated breath, but she knew if she didn’t tell her friend, she’d be late for her own honeymoon.

“Fine. I tried to avoid Quen yesterday by taking the lift, but he made it on before the door closed. He helped me through an almost panic attack. He made a comment about me not knowing who he was, and he promised to meet me at my room and explain. Well…things progressed from there. It seems we’re remarkably compatible when it comes to sex.” Stacie shrugged and hoped that would be enough information to keep Paige from asking more questions. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.

“Are you dating him now?”

Stacie shook her head. “No. It was great sex between two adults. One adult just happens to be a prince.”

“I think it’s obvious he likes you.
