Set the tone for the conversation by being as gentle and loving as possible, and open the dialogue from a place of connection. Choose to establish a productive tone, along the lines of: “Okay, how do we figure this out? I love you. I want to work this out. Let’s have the conversation and set some expectations we can both agree on.” Then, no matter what your spouse says, even if you disagree or find it hurtful, do your best not to be judgmental.
