“You’re a sight for sore eyes.” I can’t help the grin on my face when I see Max. “Thanks for coming, brother.”

“Three weeks too long to go without seeing my ugly mug?” Max pulls me into a hug. “How you holding up?”

“Hardest thing I’ve ever done.” I lead him down the hallway to the community room and take a seat on the couch. “How’s everything back home?”

“About the same. Chance is fucking everything that moves, Damien and Mia are planning their wedding, I’ve been able to dodge Morgan for a few weeks. Oh..” He pulls a DVD out. “I stole the rough copy of the video we shot. It’s really good.”

I take it and pop it into the DVD player. I’ve missed the guys. I’ve missed my guitar and the lack of music here is driving me insane. When the countdown starts, I feel a little sad. I was supposed to share this video with Chance and I’m painfully aware that I fucked that up. I know Damien will be great but I’ve never been the face of the band and I was excited about this.

“We made a couple changes but most of the script stayed the same. We hired a face you’ll recognize but she fit the part better.” Max offers me a piece of gum but keeps his eyes glued to the screen. “It’s the best video we’ve shot.”

“Think you’ll ever put yourself into one of the videos?” When Max looks at me, I have my answer.

“Dude, you know I can’t do that.”

“It’s going to be pretty hard to hide now. We’ve gotten too big to hide behind the drums forever. Maybe it’s time to be Callum again?”

Max doesn’t say anything, just glares at me. I know he’s not ready but his cover is unravelling in front of our eyes and the shit storm that’s going to come with it won’t be fun.

The song starts and I look back at the video. Our director always knocks the shit out of the park and I have to say, this looks just as good as the others. Chance is in a bed, the camera zoomed in on his back. His body is moving like he’s making love and the woman’s nails dig into his back. It’s hot and I’m wondering if there’s going to be some warning so kids aren’t watching it. Her legs wrap around him under the covers and I smile. The acting is almost too realistic. I imagine that Chance had her on her back after the shoot was over.

Cut to Damien and he’s got her pinned against a wall. The words blare about knowing what’s right but wanting what’s wrong. As he lifts her arm above her head, my body stirs. Wait just a fucking minute. As he leans in and kisses her neck, the camera moves to get a side view and that two toned hair that’s such a turn on is like a dagger to my heart. It’s like I’m watching her cheat on me.
