If I close my eyes and ignore the fact that this isn’t my apartment, I can almost envision that this happy life with Milo is real. I just sit around with him after work unless he has a client to meet with, and if he’s gone I soak in his tub and act like everything’s okay.

The contract sits like a weight in my mind, but Milo let me read through it after my sudden desire to sign the damn thing. It was a heat of the moment decision. Milo makes me feel safe and so, so good, and after Saturday evening the kind of care he gave me made me a little bit careless.

After I signed he offered to get me off, but I couldn't clear my mind enough for that so I slinked off to the living room instead. His eyes trailed me the rest of the day, watching for my reactions. I don’t know what he did while I watched TV and ordered groceries, but it sounds like he makes the schedules for his father’s company. And since I’m now a new client, I guess that makes me a priority of sorts.

We discussed it late Sunday night. Some clients don’t want to switch so he could watch me and I told him to not make unnecessary changes. I already feel a tad safer in his house. He showed me the security system in case I ever feel like someone is watching me, so I can check the perimeter whenever I want.

He also told me where the gun safe is. A shudder dances its way down my spine as I recall it. I have a very, very basic knowledge of guns and Emilio looked unsure when I admitted that. But he gave me the code anyway. Claimed it's better I have the weapons than if I didn’t have access and end up hurt because of it.

Hopefully, it never comes to that. He’s rearranged his clients to be around me more often and aside from work, where David always is, there’s really not much that has to change on my end.

You know, other than living away from my apartment. Honestly Milo’s house is an improvement. His bathroom is superior to the little closet-type space back at my place, and he’s got the tub of my dreams. Plus Russell is supposed to bring some more of my soaps, which is weird but thoughtful, and I’m looking forward to a real bubble bath in the thing.

I know I shouldn't get overly comfortable. This thing with Milo is temporary at best until we sort out my stalker. Who knows where we’ll be by then. He still dodges all my questions about this old teacher of his, and there are so many holes in his story I don’t know where to begin.

Milo is so busy between his two jobs. I saw him furiously texting Monday night, and although he played it off I know his phone is constantly buzzing. Between the club and his day job, I don’t know how much of his life he’s truly rearranged for me.
