The evening consisted of a warm summer night with a hint of breeze, an almost full moon, and a fine burn of rage. Tam's family circled him in a loose formation blocking him from the Alpha, as if not seeing Valko would stop Tam from knowing where he was. How dare Valko call Tam's potential employer.

Someone needed to be taught a lesson.

Lewis flashed Tam a nervous look. "Tam, remember, we need this pack."

"I remember." It wasn't like Tam planned on doing anything too horrible. He tended towards a more subtle approach. Unfortunately, it looked like the Alpha didn't understand subtle. Valko was more the hit with a sledgehammer and run kind of person. Tam smiled as different options flashed through his mind.

"Excuse me." Before his family could stop him Tam ducked between two of his brothers and started towards Valko.
