(La mejor cifra actual es de 6 días, 9 horas y 18 minutos, o sea, 6,39 días). También esto plantea dudas sobre el tamaño de Plutón. Parece ser, en general, que cuanto mayor es un planeta, más rápido gira sobre su eje. Júpiter, el planeta de mayor masa, gira en 9 horas y 50 minutos, mientras que Saturno, el segundo por su masa, gira en 10 horas y 14 minutos, y Urano, el gigante gaseoso de menor masa, gira en 17 horas y 15 minutos.
