Across the street from Hamilton Park, the black van with tinted windows continued its silent vigil. The driver held binoculars to his eyes as he watched Melissa. The old man with her stood up slowly and shuffled off, leaving her alone. The driver lifted a walkie-talkie to his mouth.

“This is Eagle Five. Visual contact with the target achieved.”

“Roger, Eagle Five. Please stand by.” The walkie-talkie crackled.

“Please confirm location.”

“Target is sitting on a bench at Hamilton Park in New Jersey. She has apparently evaded her counterpart to come here. We have noticed no one else around. She talked with an old man for a few minutes and then he left. She is alone.”

“Eagle Five,” said a new voice. “This is General Archon. Don’t do anything until I get there.”
