INTO THE UNKNOWN

Leaving Xavier was a bit of a wrench but before we left he gave me a necklace, whether the stones in the setting are real I don’t know, but if they are I am a very wealthy young lady. But the point of the necklace was not how much it was worth; again it was for my protection, Xavier told me whenever I am wearing it no great harm would come of me however bad the danger looks at the time, and Red assured me Xavier and the high priest Minos are the greatest magicians in this magic kingdom.

Looking above in the deep blue sky we saw Ajax and Arabella soaring high into the sky, it seems Uno must have sent them to see if we were alright and in no danger, Apollo gave a mighty roar implying that we were alright, and immediately they banked and within a minute or two were just specks on the horizon, It is so nice that everyone is so protective of us, but then I keep asking myself why are they? I think something or somebody out there could be very dangerous, and I wasn’t over eager to find out what or who it was.

Riding Red in this beautiful land was so refreshingly soothing to my ever changing nervous system, I have always been a bit of a worrier and this was so nice just dawdling along without a care in the world, our friend Kee was perched on my shoulder, and I think he felt the same as he gave a tiny squawk every now and then out of contentment.

The cats kept straying off but when there was a place where danger could lurk they were by our side, they had an eye on us at all times, although I trusted Red more than anyone, and within a flash of an eye we could be home, but that was not really an option as Red would not come back here with me because he only goes to each adventure once, and that would not be fair on him. This was his ultimate journey and perhaps he would not be back for many years to come. We travelled all day, but it wasn’t a rush. Now we needed shelter for the night but the cats knew where we were heading so there was no problem.

Ari said “I hope you like dwarfs because that’s where we are stopping tonight”; quick as a flash I said, “will Snow White be there”. Thinking I was being funny, Ari looked at me as though I was half sharp, and replied, “ I don’t think so Vicky she was make believe, this is the real world”, laughing I thought well that’s put me in my place I’d better be quiet for a bit, me and my big mouth. Red whispered to me “shhhh Vicky don’t upset them with your silly sense of humour”.

I felt like a naughty girl at school, but not for long as the dwarf’s village came into sight.
