Gabriel

“What the fuck is happening. This isn't supposed to be like this. She should be healed by now. What the fuck is taking so long?” I growl, pacing back and forth in front of the door. How can this even be real?

I have never heard of a mating mark not taking. Hell, all of the members in my old pack used to tell me that it only took their mates a couple days to be able to shift. Every time I blink I can see all of the blood running down her neck. It was supposed to be an amazing experience, one that shouldn't have hurt at all. My mating mark should have healed in a matter of seconds.

“I dinnae know. All I know is ye don't mess with the Light. My mate is powerful and can do more than any one of us can possibly imagine. Ye must give it time. My Gypsy willnae let anything happen to her.”

“That’s the fucking point. I am supposed to be the one taking care of her. I promised her nothing bad would happen to her, but look she hasn't even had my mating mark on her for an hour and I have already almost killed her. This can’t be happening!” I roar out, punching the wall next to me.

“You must calm down Gabriel, Luna would nae want ye to think that way, she is your mate.”

“Exactly Duncan. How would you feel if you could not protect your mate? It is killing me knowing that I am the one who has caused her this pain.” He is about to answer when an apparition comes out of nowhere.

“Jesus Christ. What the fuck?”

“It is time. You must come,” he says before walking through the closed door where my Luna is. I hear a loud howl and run for the door. Duncan moves out of the way as I barge in.

“Whoa, ” I say in awe looking at the most beautiful wolf I have ever seen. I walk over to the bed and sit down next to the black wolf with green eyes that I know is my Luna.

“You did it. Lună Mică, you are beautiful.” She shifts back and Gypsy says something under her breath and a robe appears on Luna. She holds out her arms for me to hold her. The minute she is in my lap, I pull her even closer running my nose along her neck smelling the sweet scent of her. My breath gets stuck in my throat and picturing her not being here with me.

“Oh Gods, Luna. I thought I was going to lose you.” I say pulling her to me. She wraps her arms around me holding me close.

“I already told you I wasn’t going anywhere, My Sweet Mate. There is no way I could ever leave you.” Gypsy gets off the bed and I look over to her.

“Thank you so much for bringing her back to me.” She gives me a warm smile.

“She’ll be fine. I have never seen magic this strong before.
