“SURE, JUST FRIENDS,” NESSA agreed, refusing to lower her gaze as awkward silence descended. So what Keys didn’t want her, her self-esteem wasn’t crushed by his rejection. No way she’d misread his signals though. He watched her all freakin’ day. Almost every time she looked his way, she caught him staring at her wearing a hungry look. But for whatever reason, he wasn’t interested in following through with the yearning in his gaze.

His loss. But damn, mine too, because I’m pretty sure he’d be a good lay.

The rock star moved her in ways no one ever had. That didn’t mean she loved him. Or wanted a relationship with him. Hell no. She had her own dreams. Hanging on the arm of a rock star as eye candy wasn’t on her top five to-be list. Not her top one billion in all honesty. Besides, her mom had given up her aspirations to become a writer for her dad’s dream at running a garage. Her mom had worked to pay the bills so her dad could get his business started. At night she was too exhausted to write, or maybe that was her mother’s easy excuse to avoid the possibility of failure. Her dad’s garage broke even and had a good reputation, but they hadn’t gotten rich off of it. Her mom still worked two jobs.

She loved her parents. Respected them and their relationship, and all the drama they’d endured over the years, but Nessa would not follow in her mother’s footsteps.

Omega danced over to them. He pointed at her and sang, “Come, come to me my lover girl...”

Nessa could’ve kissed him for the interruption. “Later, Keys.”

“He looked like he wanted to devour you in one sitting.” Omega hooked his arm around her waist and whirled her onto the dance floor. “I’m curious if you’d let him”

“Is this the part where you detail his negative qualities and shoo me off him?”

He laughed. “Not a chance. He seems like a decent guy. My dad likes his dad, and best I can tell he plays the field a little different than the rest of the crew.”

Keys’ exploits were as numerous as the rest of the band, so she pondered that a moment. “Different how?”

“Not a dissatisfied customer in the lot of them.”

Nessa rolled her eyes and Omega offered a salacious grin.

“I could use some fresh pussy in my bed.”

She snorted. “One, you shot down a threesome with me.”

“Momentary lapse of insanity.”

“And two, you’re as into me as you are Fallon.”

He mocked her with a snort of his own. “See what you know. You’re hot and all, but not my type. But I’m very into Fallon, she’s just not too bright thinking Sam’s asshole brother hung the goddamn moon.”

Nessa smacked him on the shoulder. “She’s smarter than us put together. And she’s good for him and you know it.” She’d never seen Jase happier, and thankfully Fallon was as strong-willed as him and refused to put up with his constant bullshit.
