Sitting in my car while enjoying a smoke, I observe Kendra clad in a long black trench coat as she walks up the sidewalk and enters the store.

It’s been three days since our make-out session, and each day I come here watching her from the inside of my car. I watch her at work, when she goes home, and when she makes her way to Lacy Megan’s in the morning. I’ve become a full-time stalker.

Call me crazy, but I have the strange need to protect her. Ridiculous, I know, considering I’m the one who nearly took her life, but I have this constant urge to make things right. It feels as if I was given a second chance. She doesn’t remember me, doesn’t even know who I am, but that makes her even more interesting.

I know I’m playing with fire. The closer I get to her, the higher are the chances of her discovering the truth. The truth I can’t bear to hide, yet can’t reveal.

For three days, I’ve waited in front of the store, waiting for a sign telling me whether I should leave or go inside once more. However, when she pulls off her coat revealing a stunning fire red dress melding into a tight pencil skirt, complete with black killer heels, all I can think about is peeling her out of that dress and watching it trickle to the floor.

I’m so fucking tired of trying to stay away from her, so fucking tired of dreaming about her when she’s constantly within my reach. With my mind set, I snip away the cigarette, get out of the car, and enter the store.

Kendra lifts her head when I open the door, and her face turns into one of shock when I approach her.

“You…” she mutters in surprise, and if I didn’t know any better, I’d say she’s not happy to see me.

I pretend not to notice and give her my best smile. “Hi, I was looking for you.”

Kendra straightens tossing the pencil in her hands onto the table. “Good,” she snaps grabbing her phone, and I startle at her harsh tone. “Because we need to talk.” Oh-oh, I have the feeling this won’t work out as planned.

She storms past me without a second glance apparently expecting me to follow. I comply and walk with her into the private dressing room taking in the sexy dress she’s wearing today. She shuts the door behind us and whips around to face me.

I remain silent waiting for what she has to say. She moves her fingers over the screen of her phone. “Care to explain?”

“Kendra, what…”

The words die on my tongue as I look at the picture she’s showing me. It’s the one her friend Skyla took when we were backstage at the Moonlight Festival—a picture where I’m nuzzling Kendra’s neck after my show.

“You recognized me the first day you came into the store, am I right? That’s why you stormed out just like that. You didn’t know I lost some of my memories.
