Chapter Six

Haley

Tell me what feels good to you.

Dean’s words echo in my head, and I savor them. He’s spent time touching and feasting on me, like I’m an appetizer he delights in.

But now we both need the full course. A shiver works its way down my spine as anticipation builds low in my belly.

I run a hand along his jaw, feeling his five o’clock shadow underneath my fingertips. “Come to bed with me.”

He doesn’t move, doesn’t open his eyes. “Are you sure?” There’s an edge of need in his voice, something raw and primal that he’s been keeping caged. But tonight I want everything with him.

“I need your cock,” I say.

His breath fans my face as he exhales. When he opens his eyes, the hunger in his gaze makes my empty core ache.

“I don’t have a condom,” he says. “I’m clean and I haven’t been with a woman in over three years. But there’s more than just you and me to think about here.”

After I discovered Ben was cheating on me again, I went in for a full screening to make sure I was free from STDs. It’s how I found out I was pregnant. “I’m clean too,” I say. “And there’s clearly no chance of pregnancy.”

He chuckles and pushes a strand of hair from my face. “Clearly.”

I sit up slowly, careful to give myself a few seconds to adjust to the position change. Then I thread my fingers through Dean’s, feeling the jolt of electricity that travels from the tips of my fingers to my upper arm.

I stand and tug him toward the bedroom.

He follows me, a grin on his face. I never knew it could feel so good to be desired. That sex could be about give and take.

When we get to the bedroom, I’m glad I replaced all of the furniture after I sent the divorce papers. The only thing I left undisturbed was the crib he built for our son.

I creep closer and peer into it, checking on Levi. The moonlight illuminates his tiny sleeping form and I’m filled with a rush of contentment and love.

Dean puts a hand on my shoulder.

“He’s beautiful,” he says softly.

For a moment, I wonder if he could ever love my son the way I do. I dismiss the thought. I’m sure he doesn’t want to raise another man’s child. But that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy tonight. I’ll enjoy the feeling of his body against mine and I’ll let him go in the morning light.

He reaches for the zipper on the back of my dress and tugs gently on it. The material pools at my feet and I step out of it, aware that I’m only in my sensible white bra and cotton panties in front of Dean.

He reaches for the clasp next and helps me shrug out of my bra, careful not to touch my breasts. But it doesn’t stop him from gazing at them in appreciation. “If there were ever a competition for world’s best tits, you’d take home the gold.
