“It went to voicemail again,” I say to Momma Water.

DeWayne always answers the phone when I call him if he has his phone on him. As of now, I’m beyond worried, I’m stressed the hell out. Something is wrong I can feel it in my bones. My gut is never wrong. DeWayne calls that feeling in my gut spiritual discernment. Whatever you call it, it’s never wrong. I first felt it about my friends suicide. Then I felt it again in regards to the first guy I fell in love with—cheating. Then once again in regards to my parents—car crash.

“Trixy I need you to calm down, please for my sake. “That’s my only child and we’ve been through enough already. Lord knows, I can’t take it if something was to happen to him.”

“I’m sorry Momma Water,” I wrap her hands in my own. “I don’t mean to worry you.”

“Everything will be okay,” she rubs my hands, lightly. “I claim it in the name of Jesus.”

“You’re right, I will not be pessimistic, and I claim it with you. Everything is going to be all right.” I hope!
