Load pulled up at the house on the corner of Walnut and Pine Grove. Salem was still dumping buckets of water. He hurried up to the front door and rang the bell. He could hear movement inside the house, and thought he saw the curtains move. He rang the bell again and called out to the old man this time. "Holden Cosgrove. I'm John Load. I follow you on Facebook." There was no answer, but he could still hear a lot of movement inside. "I wanted to talk to you about one of your guns."

He heard a loud thud, and he knew something was not right. He tried the doorknob and it was locked. He backed down the stairs and looked in the window; he could see things had been ransacked in the living room and then he saw an open door at the back side of the house. He ran around the house, and pushed through a gate into the backyard. He saw a small, hooded figure running down the alley. It looked like some sort of gang punk, but he was too far ahead for him to catch up. He ran into the kitchen through the open door. There were two cups of fresh coffee on the table. One of the chairs had a small, wet imprint on the seat. He looked into the living room, which had been tossed.

"Holden Cosgrove? Where are you? I'm here to help. The assailant is gone. Hello?" He moved through the living room, and then down the hallway to an open door where a light was on. It was his gun room. Load looked down and saw Cosgrove's arm on the floor. He pushed his way into the room, and checked Cosgrove. He appeared to be dead. Load pulled out his phone and dialed for emergency services, but before he placed the call he looked around for the gun. The place was a mess of guns. After turning the open dresser inside out, he walked around the room, and to his dismay found an even bigger mess in the closet. After some brief searching, he figured it wouldn't be in there. Everything he came across in the closet was covered in dust and spiderwebs.

He walked back around to Cosgrove. He shook his head at him. What a lousy gun collector. The man had no respect for these relics, most of which were worthless. He looked down at his phone, sighed, and then called it in.
