I shake my head. “This song is so horrible, Nessa.”

“Yeah, they do kind of suck, don’t they?”

“So you just realized this?”

“No, I came to that conclusion after Karl burped while we were making out and it tasted like garlic.”

I snort out a laugh. “That is so disgusting!”

“I know. And my mom got home last night with take-out spaghetti and I was like, ‘Uh, thanks, Mom. Not hungry’” Vanessa reaches over and presses a few buttons on the player. “Let’s hear something else.”

I couldn’t agree with her more, but I have to admit, I wish my best friend would actually hear me.
