Chapter 8

Early the next morning, Rohan didn’t have a shift at the coffee shop, and he also didn’t have to go in to work at the bar since it was Wednesday. He would be off that day and the day after, and so would Diego. Percy had to be in the studio on both days, but he was free in the morning. Hence, the three of them decided to head over to the grocery store at nine o’clock.

“I’m not a picky eater,” Rohan informed Percy for the fifth time while they strolled casually down one aisle and up another.

“Neither am I,” Diego added while grinning widely. “Besides, you’re an incredible cook, Perce. You make everything taste delicious.”

Percy blushed, but he also smelled pleased. “Thank you.”

Now Rohan was aware he and Diego would collaborate with each other to win Percy’s heart so he didn’t feel jealous at the sight of the other alpha flirting lightly with their future omega. He and Diego had a common goal after all. He also enjoyed grocery shopping with Diego and Percy. In the past, he would grab whatever he required, head to the check-out counter to pay, and leave. With Diego and Percy by his side, they moved much slower.

They were halfway done with their shopping when five omegas, three betas, and an alpha abruptly shoved him and Diego aside from behind while squealing and yelling loudly at Percy. The strangers smelled overjoyed as they crowded around Percy, who took their intrusion in stride and allowed them to snap multiple photographs with him. He even signed some autographs. Rohan was astonished while Diego seemed thoroughly amused. However, one of the omegas suddenly glanced at Rohan and Diego before pointing back and forth between them.

“Are they your alphas?”

Percy’s cheeks flushed red in an instant. “Not yet.”

Rohan was delighted to hear that, and judging by Diego’s scent, the other alpha felt the same way. However, their reaction was nothing compared to Percy’s fans. That response somehow made them even more excited because they started screaming loudly. They also asked Percy, Rohan, and Diego to pose together for several pictures. Rohan was hesitant, but Diego, as expected, agreed immediately. Rohan attempted to smile as he stood on Percy’s left while Diego was on the omega’s other side. The flashes of light from the cameras on the smartphones were rather blinding, and Rohan had to force himself not to squint his eyes too much. Then he heaved a soft sigh of relief when Percy’s fans left them alone.

“It’s so weird watching you interact with your fans, Perce,” Diego teased. “You act so modest all the time, I’ve kind of forgotten you’re a celebrity. It’s always in the back of my mind, but I don’t focus on it. Do you know what I mean?”

Percy nodded. “Some people may recognize me once in a while, but I’m really not that famous.”

Diego chuckled. “You’re definitely popular.”

“Diego is right,” Rohan agreed.

Percy shrugged. “Let’s not talk about it anymore. We still have quite a few items on our shopping list.
