SUNDAY

Saturday, typically a day of leisure and relaxation for Lily, unfolded with a deceptive sense of normalcy as she embarked on her usual routine. Yet, beneath the façade of familiarity lurked an unsettling undercurrent, a feeling that something was amiss on this particular day.

As the morning sun cast its golden glow over the quiet streets, Lily set out for her customary walk, seeking solace in the familiar rhythm of her footsteps against the pavement. With each stride, she sought to shake off the nagging sense of unease that clung to her like a shadow, determined to reclaim a semblance of normalcy in the face of mounting uncertainty.

Stopping by her favorite coffee shop, Lily indulged in the simple pleasure of a steaming cup of coffee, savoring the rich aroma that enveloped her in its comforting embrace. Yet, even as she sought refuge in the warmth of her drink, she couldn't shake the feeling of disquiet that gnawed at her from within.

Returning home, Lily settled into the familiar comfort of her pajamas, relishing the simple joys of solitude as she immersed herself in her favorite show, "Deadliest Catch." But even as she lost herself in the drama unfolding onscreen, her thoughts kept drifting back to the events of the previous night.

A glance at her phone during a commercial break revealed missed calls from Randy, a pang of guilt tugging at her heartstrings as she listened to his voicemail. With a wistful smile, she returned his call, only to be met with the cold emptiness of voicemail.

As she moved about her home, double-checking locks and windows in a subconscious bid for security, Lily's phone rang once more, the caller ID displaying an unfamiliar number. With a sense of trepidation, she answered, only to be greeted by silence on the other end.

Minutes later, a text message flashed across her screen, its cryptic contents sending a shiver down her spine. "Deadliest Catch, great show when home alone," it read, the words echoing with an eerie familiarity that sent a chill racing down Lily's spine.

Frowning in confusion, Lily fired off a quick reply, her fingers trembling slightly as she awaited a response that never came. And as she sank back into the cushions of her couch, her mind awash with unanswered questions, she couldn't shake the unsettling feeling that she was being watched, a silent observer lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike.

Concern etched into her voice, Lily attempted to reach Randy once more, but her calls continued to go unanswered, diverting her attention to her parents. With a heavy heart, she dialed their number, the phone ringing several times before her father's familiar voice greeted her on the other end.

"Hey hon, you okay?" he inquired, a note of worry lacing his words.

"Not sure, Dad. Are you and Mom okay?" Lily responded, her tone tinged with unease.

"Yeah, we're fine. But it isn't like you to call this late on a Sunday night. What's going on, Lily?" her father asked, concern evident in his voice.

"It's nothing, just checking in on the two of you.
