Clay held Gemini into the dark, and probably dozed a little himself. She’d fallen right off to sleep, to any man’s mind a sign that he’d done right by his woman.

But he was aware when Quinn came up the stairs.

He knew that Quinn had reinforced the floor that separated the bar from his apartment in order to deaden the noise on the rare nights he didn’t work to closing himself. Which was a good thing, as it worked both ways, and so the folks below probably hadn’t heard Gemini scream her head off. Or his own, totally manly growls as he’d blasted out that best-ever-bar-none amazing orgasm.

As it was, a table or two of patrons may have had to brush chips of plaster off their dinners or fish them out of their drinks.

He grinned at the thought, a man well-pleased and justifiably proud, damn it.

He knew where Quinn was, though—had heard him grab a beer or a water from the fridge and slide open the door to the deck. So he did the right thing and pulled himself out of the bed.

All he had to do was tuck his dick back into his pants and zip up, because that was as far undone as he’d gotten. He hadn’t even kicked his shoes off, and he took that as a testament to the way he’d lit the powder keg of Gemini’s passion. He’d never known a woman who wouldn’t stop whatever he was doing to her to bitch about his shoes on her bed.

He took a look at her—his woman, by God—and realized she’d done only a little better. Her shoes were off—one thrown to either side of the bed. He must have done that at some point, but he didn’t remember it. Her blouse was torn open—he did remember that, her skirt was twisted up around her waist, and it looked like the wedgie her panties were giving her would be uncomfortable by morning.

So, before he left her, he rolled her around a bit to get her undressed. He’d fucked her so far out, she did little more than murmur a small objection as he disturbed her. Then he tucked her back in under the blankets and pressed a kiss to her temple. He hoped both she and his buddy Quinn appreciated that he ignored the twinge in his dick that urged him to take one more go at her.

He took a beer from the fridge for himself, pried the top off, and went out to the deck. He passed Quinn there in the chaise and propped his ass on the rail facing him. There was enough light to know Quinn was watching him as he took a long pull on the IPA. Then there was quiet for a minute as Clay sighed out his satisfaction and studied the stars.

Quinn spoke first. “I thought you might be done with her.”

Yeah, he’d been getting that a lot. He took another draw on his beer. “I’m not done.”

“You don’t often go back for seconds.
