“Oh god, that feels so good.” Ruby rubbed her neck, the cool air blowing free around her skin again. She eyed the collar in Tev’s hand with disgust.

He was studying the mechanism as she sat on a bench, her pale legs dangling off the ground. She watched him walk across the room and set the collar in the centre of a polished white table criss-crossed with grid lines. He turned, walked back over and held out his hand.

“Right wrist.”

Gladly, she placed her wrist into his hand, and his fingers curled around her pale flesh, turning it. He ran a gold pen-like device over the seal, and it clicked open. The gold bracelet fell into Tev’s palm. Her pale skin had been rubbed raw from the chafing of the bands.

“I’m going to kill him.”

Startled by the menace behind his tone, she glanced up at his face. A dark cloud of rage shadowed Tev’s normally handsome features, and for a brief moment he scared her.

All fear melted away when he ever so gently touched her sore wrist. “I am sorry you have suffered.”

The rage was gone, replaced by tenderness and concern in his voice and face.

“It’s okay, Tev, from the way I look at it, it could have been worse. There are other women out there who were sold. They could be suffering far worse than I.”

He took her other wrist and swiftly removed the other band. “You are brave as well as beautiful.”

It was easy to see Tev was the deeper caring one of the brothers. He wore his heart on his sleeve. Ruby was not unaffected, how easily the brothers had gotten under her skin, in such a short time.

Ruby watched as he set the bands onto the table before rummaging round in a drawer.

“Niz is our healer, but since he’s out with fish face, I’ll do my best.”

Clutched in his hand he held a silver tube. “This is always good for abrasions.” He knelt down, flicked off the cap and squeezed a pink cream out onto his hand before gently rubbing it over her sore wrists. She smiled at the frown of concentration on his face, as he applied the cream. Immediately she felt the effects of Tev’s treatment. It soothed her sore skin, and the redness eased, leaving only a faint mark. He was so damn sweet. She was going to get a toothache. But that wasn’t the only thing that was aching. Despite how she was raised back on Earth, it didn’t feel wrong to be craving Tev, just after she’d been thoroughly fucked by two of his brothers.

Maybe her hormones were way out of whack, but at this point, she didn’t care.

“Thank you.”

He tilted her head back, and smoothed the rest of the cream around her neck.

His head mere inches from hers, she bit down on her lower lip when his hand stopped medicating and started a slow caress down the curve of her throat.

“So different from our kind.” His tone was low and filled with awe.
