CHAPTER 11

Nate was sitting in the cafeteria eating his lunch with Garrett and a few other guys when Garrett’s phone went off. The smile on his face told everyone that it was Christine who had texted him and they started to give him a hard time about it. He just shook his head and looked at his phone. When he realized that it was a video he reached for his earphones and plugged them in. Once he was settled he hit play, as he watched it the smile that was one his face soon turned into a glare. Nate just sat there watching his expression and wanted to know what he was watching. After the video finished Garrett replayed it again just to make sure what he saw was actually real. “Dude, what did she send you?” Nate asked when he couldn’t take the silence and his grim look anymore.

“Oh, it’s nothing just some creepy video,” Garrett responded as he tried to put his phone up quickly. He wasn’t fast enough though and Nate managed to get the phone. “Dude, give me that back,” he said as he tried to wrestle the phone out of Nate’s grasp.

“Nope, sorry I want to see what Christine sent you.”

“You really don’t want to see it.”

Nate laughed, “Well, because you said that I have to see what she sent you.” Before Garrett could react Nate already hit play. He just sat there as he watched the video trying to come up with all sorts of explanations as to why Olivia would be up on the stage singing that song with some guy she hardly knows. Nate watched the video all the way through and then slid the phone to Garrett. He caught it before it fell off the table. “WHO THE HELL IS THAT SINGING WITH HER?” Nate asked through gritted teeth trying to keep his anger at bay.

“My guess would be Ethan,” Garrett answered. All the guys looked at Nate then back at Garrett and he shook his head to let them know that now is not the time.

“Who’s Ethan?” Mark asked as he took a bite out of his apple.

“It’s Olivia’s roommates brother,” Garrett responded even though Nate was staring daggers at him.

“Oh,” Mark said looking at Nate’s reaction. “I’m sure he is just being nice to Olivia for his sisters sake. I mean, if it was me I would make sure that I was nice to my sisters roommate to make things easier for everyone.”

“Shut up!” Nate growled before he got up. Everyone just stared at him shocked to hear that sound coming from him. “I’m out of here,” he said as he gathered his stuff and walked out of the cafeteria.

“What’s up his ass?” Mark asked.

“Really? Man you need to learn to keep you mouth shut, or grow a filter between your brain and your mouth,” Garrett informed him as he got his stuff. “I’ll see you guys later, I better go check up on him.”

“Bye,” all the guys said in unison as he left.
