EDWARD

I straighten in my seat and remove the blindfold.

I set it down, next to me, and check my belt making sure it’s fastened.

Smoothly, I run my fingers over my fly and adjust my bulge. Steps resonate outside the door as I fish my phone out of my pocket.

I don’t have the chance to look at it when the door swings open and Lex’s silhouette fills the doorway. I see people in the background.

Bodyguards, one of the hostesses.

“What’s going on?” Lex asks, slamming the door closed behind him.

Elbows resting on my knees, I slant my gaze down, checking my phone.

“What do you mean?” I ask calmly.

He stops in front of me, the tips of his shoes snagging my gaze.

“What happened, Preston?”

I raise my eyes, my gaze trailing up his dress suit pant and tailored blue shirt.

He clasps his hips, his eyes flooded with questions.

“What are you doing here?” he asks, glancing around, his gaze roaming over the table and the couch before it stops on my face. “We were waiting for you upstairs,” he says.

I set the phone next to me, lean back in my seat, and lift my arms, running my hands through my hair.

His eyes shift to the bottle of champagne.

“Did you just fuck someone?” he asks incredulously.

Our eyes stay locked for a few long moments.

“Ed?”

A dash of worry weaves through his voice.

“Thea Porter just sucked my cock.”

His eyebrows tilt up in surprise.

“What?”

A firm knocking on the door makes us swivel our heads in that direction.

The door cracks open, and one of the bodyguards and the woman in charge of the dancers’ schedule walk in.

The woman takes rushed steps toward me. Her face is pale, her eyes glazed with concern.

“Sir, someone entered the building without a clearance. We have reasons to believe that it was the dancer assigned to this room.”

Lex shifts his gaze to me.

The woman continues.

“We were expecting a new dancer, and this woman managed to walk on the premises, pretending to be someone else. The security detail outside the building has the plate information on a car that stationed in front of the club for some time, waiting for this woman. Would you like us to alert the police?”

“You don’t have to,” I say curtly. “I want all the people involved in this incident in my office tomorrow morning. Both of you as well,” I add.

The blood draws from the woman’s face.

“Yes, Sir,” she says with a shaky voice.

“You can go, now.”

They quietly remove themselves from the room.

Lex whips his gaze at me.

“Was that woman Thea Porter?”

I tip my chin down in response.

He folds his arms across his chest.

“What exactly happened?”

“Nothing,” I say pissed as I shove my phone into my pocket.

“Did you know that she was in the building?” he asks suspiciously.

I nod again, my lips pressed together.

“Why are you so mad then?”

I look up at him again.

“I have no idea what she was looking for.”

His hand flicks up.

“Wait a minute. Was she looking for you?”

“No. I don’t think so.”

“Why did she pretend to be a dancer?”

“Beats me.
