The Oxford English Dictionary correctly credits David J. Schow for coining the term “splatterpunk.” A Bram Stoker Award-winner and recipient of the World Fantasy Award his short fiction has been gathered into six collections. Some of his nonfiction was compiled for the International Horror Guild Award-winning Wild Hairs. In addition to novels The Kill Riff, The Shaft, Rock Breaks Scissors Cut, Bullets of Rain, Gun Work, and Internecine, he authored The Outer Limits Companion. Schow edited anthology Silver Scream, the three-volume “Lost Bloch” series, and John Farris’ Elvisland. Film credits include The Crow, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and The Hills Run Red. He has written text supplements for such DVDs as Reservoir Dogs and From Hell, contributed to several British documentaries, and his expertise is displayed on DVD supplements for such movies as The Dirty Dozen, The Green Mile, and Creature from the Black Lagoon. He co-produced and filmed much of the on-location supplemental material seen on the discs for I, Robot and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe.
