Chapter Four – Sweet Torture

‘Hey,’ she said gently after a few minutes as she started to wriggle around. ‘Michael, don’t fall asleep on me; let’s have another glass of our champagne, shall we?’

‘Sounds like a very good idea,’ he said and he manoeuvred his body to sit on the couch and leant over to pour the champagne and handed her a glass. She stood up and swallowed a long draft of champagne and pulled her dress together and began to fasten the buttons.

‘Gabriella, what do you think you are doing,’ he said. ‘This is by no means over, I’ve hardly started.’

‘Don’t worry,’ she said, ‘I agree we are not done yet, I’m just going to freshen up, I suggest you lie back and gather your strength I won’t be long.’

Before he could answer, she opened the curtain slightly and pulling it tight behind her, she stepped through it and was gone.

After a couple of moments, he jumped up and split the curtain slightly and peered through the gap, discreetly watching her weave her way through the room, attracting the attention of many of the men sitting at the bar.

He was surprised when she sat down on a high stool at the bar and spoke to the barman who quickly brought a tall glass of some clear liquid and set it down in front of her.

One of the men who had previously had his eyes on her got up and walked over to her and moved in close, whispering something in her ear.

Michael didn’t like it, what the fuck was she doing? Who was that man? Did she know him? Did she want to know him? Michael was transfixed.

The man at the bar summoned the barman who promptly placed a champagne glass in front of Gabriella and with a flourish poured some sparkling liquid into the glass. She drank down the first tall glass of clear liquid and banged the empty glass down on the bar.

The man looked at her expectantly and leaned in and seemed to whisper again. She looked at him, and looked back at the champagne glass and picking it up she put it to her lips and drained it completely and again she slammed the glass down on the bar and then threw her head back and laughed. Standing up, she said something to the man and gave him a peck on the cheek and walked away toward the back of the club.

The man looked after her smiling and shaking his head.

Michael sat and poured himself another glass of champagne and stretched back on the couch, his long legs reaching the end whilst he knotted his arms behind his head wondering what the man had said to her, but relieved that she hadn’t stayed at the bar. A little while later, she was back and as Gabriella carefully split the curtain, she was mesmerised by the sight of him. He was completely naked, his eyes were closed and his shallow breathing confirmed that he was asleep. The
