âHe was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
and as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
so He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
and who will recount His generation?
For His life is taken away from the earth.â
34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, âPlease tell me, of whom does the prophet say this; of himself, or of someone else?â 35 And Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached the good news about Jesus to him. 36 Now as they were going down the road, they came upon some water. And the eunuch said, âBehold, here is water: what prevents me from being baptized?â
38 And he ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, both Phillip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught up Philip, and the eunuch did not see him any longer; and he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And as he passed through, he preached the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.

Saul's Conversion
1 Then Saul, still breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and requested from him letters of authority to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he should find any who were of the Way, both men and women, he might bring them, having been bound, to Jerusalem.
3 And as he was going, it came about that he drew near to Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, âSaul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?â
5 And he said, âWho are You, Lord?â
And the Lord said, âI am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
6 âBut rise up and enter into the city, and it will be spoken to you what you must do.â
7 And the men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 8 And Saul got up from the ground, and although his eyes were open, he saw no one; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days not seeing, and neither ate nor drank.
Ananias Baptizes Saul
10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, âAnanias.â
And he said, âBehold I am here, Lord.â
11 And the Lord said to him, âArise and go to Straight Street, and seek out in the house of Judas a man named Saul, of Tarsus; for behold, he is praying. 12 And he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him, so that he might see again.â
13 But Ananias answered, âLord, I have heard from many about this man, how many wicked things he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem; 14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who are calling on Your name.
