Yes, it was Ali, although, a younger and slightly pleasant version of him. Once the shaking stopped, I stood right back up and looked at him, unsure of how to address him. I didn’t know his real name and I probably would never, considering how arrogant he could be at times. He took a few steps towards me and paused, his eyes piercing right through me.

“You seem like you already know me,” he said, tilting his head to the left. “Are you not surprised by my appearance?”

“Not really,” I chuckled, looking away for a bit.

Judging by his tone, it seemed he did not know me. But how could this be? Why did he not recognize me? Even if this was all an illusion, I doubt current Ali would be stupid enough to upload a younger version of himself, knowing it could jeopardize the secret he was hiding dearly. That being said, this was a golden opportunity for me to learn more about Ali’ real origins, which I was rather curious to unravel.

“Who are you?” I asked first, turning my eyes back towards him.

“Do you really want to know?” he snickered in a comment, brushing past his nose with his left hand. “Okay, I will tell you.”

My heart almost jumped right out of me when he said that. I didn’t expect it be this easy, but at the same time, I was relieved. The possibility that this could be all a trap that Ali had set for me dawned on me, although I chose to look past it for a second.

“My name is Roy Delmarco,” he bowed his head lightly before looking back up. “It is a pleasure to meet you, my successor.”

Whoa! The younger version of Ali was really polite and well mannered, a rather strange and yet unexpected twist. Thinking for a second, I recalled his name back into my mind, trying to remember where I had heard it before. Roy Delmarco! Why was it so familiar to me?

“No way,” I exclaimed, eyes widening with crazy joy. “But that’s impossible.”

For a whole minute, I was overcome with a mixture of joy, anxiety, relief, and excitement, followed right after by small signs of doubt. I mean it was hard to believe that Ali was Roy Delmarco, the legendary warrior/scientist hero of the millennium. During undergraduate school, we were taught of the wonderful work Roy accomplished, giving rise to a new age of technology and medicine. Compared to him, I was nothing, but a fly in the wind. His extraordinary mental prowess and physical abilities were astounding, making him a legendary icon everyone looked up to in less than four years. There was not a lot of data on him since he mysteriously vanished one day without a trace. What was even stranger was that it was on the same day Ras disappeared from history. Was this a coincidence? No, coincidence was irrelevant in this matter, much less a possibility. These two events were somehow connected to each other. I had a lot of questions and even lesser time to get most of them answered.
