Put the bottomless glass on your table beside the second green silk. Put the second rubber band, which should be large enough to go around the glass, in your left trouser pocket.

Now to do the trick. Show the green silk to the audience and then roll it into a ball, tucking one end into the folds to keep it from unrolling. Pick up the glass with your left hand and drop the silk into it. The glass is put on the palm of your hand so the silk will not drop right through it. Take the bandana in your right hand, with the hidden silk to the rear, and throw it over the glass so that the bundle containing the silk is within the glass.

Arrange the bandana around the glass and take both in your right hand, leaving the rolled-up green silk in your left palm. Put your left hand into your left trouser pocket. Leave the silk in it and immediately bring out the rubber band. Put it around the glass to hold the bandana in place. Twist the ends of the bandana at the bottom of the glass and hold them in your right hand, steadying the glass with your left hand.

Now twist the ends tighter and pull downward on the bandana and you will force the duplicate green silk slowly upward from the center of the bandana. The effect is weird in the extreme. When the silk is almost completely out, take one corner of it in your left hand and shake it out. Then remove the bandana, put the glass on the table and pass the bandana and silk for examination. The small rubber band will fall to the floor of its own accord.
