TURKEY OR CHICKEN SAVORY SAUSAGE

PREP TIME: 5 MINUTES • COOK TIME: 10 MINUTES

Yield: Makes 4 servings • Portions: 1 protein

1¼ pounds ground turkey or chicken

1½ teaspoons Bell’s Seasoning or a combination of your favorite herbs Pinch of garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Celtic or pink Himalayan salt

⅛–¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Brush or spray a skillet with coconut oil. Add the turkey or chicken, herb seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper and cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink. Alternatively, mix the ingredients in a bowl and form into 4 patties and sauté or grill for about 5 minutes on each side, or until a thermometer inserted in the center registers 165°F and the meat is no longer pink.

NOTE:

Turkey or chicken sausage is great on its own; you’ll also find it in a number of recipes in this chapter.
