This is what was happening with Robby. He kept slipping in and out of the Keto Zone, and that was not sufficient to burn off his stubborn belly fat. Once he lowered his protein intake, the fat he wanted to lose melted away. He was also less hungry as a result of his small tweaks (less protein, more fat), and he shifted into the Keto Zone.
WHAT COMES WITH THE PROTEIN?
Usually the biggest challenge with protein is what comes with it. With meat, it might be a sugary sauce or a condiment, like ketchup, or a customary side dish, like potatoes with the roast beef, that keeps you out of the Keto Zone.
When it comes to dairy, which can be a great source of protein, it is often hard to recognize just how much sugar and carbs come with the proteins. Most cheeses, especially hard cheeses, include 1 gram of carb per ounce, which makes a slice of cheese easy to count. Just 2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) of whole milk has 1.5 grams of carbs.
