“Ahh. Isn’t that cute? The baby getting a hug from her hottie, older brother.” I rolled my eyes and ignored the comment as I waved at Jarrod as he drove away.

“Leave her alone, Cheryl. You’re just jealous,” my friend Sasha said as she came to stand at my side.

“Why would I be jealous? I have Josh eating out of my hand.” Cheryl, one of the mean girls at the school who was a grade ahead of me, flipped her hair.

Sasha and Deena, who’d joined us, laughed. “Obviously you haven’t been watching the news. They say both Josh and Jason are in a relationship—”

“And it’s rumoured to be the same girl,” added Deena, cutting off Sasha.

“—who isn’t you,” Sasha finished.

This was news to me, but obviously not to Cheryl from the way her eyes glared at my friends. “That’s all made up. His mom told me that it’s a story they are using to help shield Josh and Jake from all the women who try to distract them. He’s still mine.” She stomped off down the street.

“Alex, I’ll take Delusional for $400.” We all laughed, but what they said intrigued me.

“Are they really seeing the same girl?”

My friends shrugged as they looked at each other, doing their little silent communication thing twins had before turning their gaze back on me.

“That’s what the rumour is. And the pictures in the press are pretty convincing.”

“Whomever she is, she’s extremely lucky. I’d die to be the filling in a Jake and Josh sandwich,” Deena added.

“They are pretty cute, but they don’t do much for me.”

My friends laughed. “No one seems to do anything for you.” Deena punched me in the shoulder before slipping her arm through mine.

“Although, if we could ever talk you into wearing clothes that fit you, that show off that amazing figure you have, you could probably get any guy or guys that you wanted.”

“Don’t tell her that Sash. She might actually do it, then we wouldn’t stand a chance.”

“Ha, ha, ha, guys. Very funny.” I rolled my eyes at them. “No one wants me—”

“Because you hide behind your baggy clothes,” Deena threw in.

“—and I’m not looking for a guy. There’s no one who captures my attention.”

Sasha hip checked me as she began to drag her twin and I down the street towards Beacher’s Clothing. “That’s because you measure everyone against Mr. Evans and his friends. No one our age can live up to that standard.”

“I don’t do that,” I protested, which only brought about more laughter from my friends. No one said anything as we pushed open the door to the store and entered.

“Look. I get it. I really do. There probably isn’t a single girl at school who doesn’t have a crush on Mr. Evans or his friends, but you, you’ve taken it to the extreme.” Sasha pulled on my overly large shirt. “I mean, why are you wearing this? Trying to hide how old you are? Not look like a woman? I’d really like to know.”

“It’s not like
