Chapter Ten

“It’s so many different colors.” Sam lay on Percy’s bed, legs stretched out in front of him and crossed at the ankles as he stared up toward the ceiling. Envisioning Percy’s tail in his mind’s eye, he found it difficult to describe.

“What?” Percy sat cross-legged at the foot of the bed, completely naked. He craned his neck to look up at the rafters, obviously assuming Sam was talking about something in the room.

“You! Your tail, I mean. I keep thinking about it.” He looked over at Percy, establishing eye contact. “I thought it was black, or maybe a midnight blue.”

“Pretty much, but as I swim, I believe you can see a range of colors, sparkles, if you will.”

“Flashes of red, green, blue and yellow. Yes! Exactly. It’s beautiful, and it feels so smooth. Not like fish scales at all.”

Percy laughed. “Please don’t become obsessed with my tail.”

“Why not? I’m obsessed with the rest of you.”

“Well, maybe I’m obsessed with your tail.” Percy leaned across the bed to grab hold of Sam’s cock.

“Oh my god, you’re fucking insatiable. How many times can you do it in one day?”

“As a human or as a merman?” Percy cocked his head to the side as he started to stroke Sam’s hard-on.

“Stop it!” Sam swatted away his hand, feigning annoyance. “I’m just a plain ol’ ordinary human. I’m not like you. I don’t have the stamina of Aqua Man.”

After they’d hauled themselves out of the ocean, they’d made the arduous trek up the long flight of steps that led from the coast up around the castle-like home. They’d showered together in Percy’s master bathroom, then made love again, this time on the bed. Percy seemed to now be gunning for a third round.

“Are you hungry? We haven’t eaten since brunch.” Percy rubbed his fingers across Sam’s upper thigh.

“A little, maybe.”

Sam pushed himself up from the mattress and walked over to the sliding glass window at the patio. He slid it open and retrieved his underwear and shorts from the deck.

“It’s just the two of us here.” Percy stepped onto the deck behind him. “You can run around naked all night, as far as I’m concerned.” He placed a hand against Sam’s buttock and rubbed before gently squeezing.

Sam turned to kiss him, and as they surrendered themselves to each other, tongues dancing languidly, Sam felt the cool breeze from the ocean against his back. He pulled back and stared into Percy’s cerulean eyes. “You’ve changed my life.” He reached up to place his palm against Percy’s cheek. “I never thought I’d feel this way about another man.”

“Just being with you has been a dream come true.” Percy kissed him again, more softly. “I used to have a poster of you from the Barcelona Olympics. It was hanging on the side wall, next to my bed.”

“You did?” Sam smiled.

“And your book, and cereal boxes. In fact, I still have them. Your autobiography is on the shelf above the desk, and the cereal is in my closet. Sealed, tamper-proof packaging.
