Barbara Price felt a wave of semirelief come over her. Yes, Hermann Schwarz was in enemy hands, but the bad guys might as well have taken a time bomb to their chests.

As of this moment Schwarz was the only thing that Price and the rest of the home crew had to locate Abalisah’s captives and presumably their store of major weaponry. Schwarz had sent them pictures of what the auctioneers had currently on hand in Hawaii, an impressive array of communications equipment, some nearly as sophisticated as what the Farm itself had, thanks to Schwarz. There was also all manner of small arms, ammunition samples and video displays of high explosives.

The major stuff—armored vehicles, long-range missiles, even short-range antiaircraft and antiarmor rockets—was not going to be kept on site. Not with all those crooks in such close quarters.

Price also could see that the Abalisah group had assembled far more than simply Moscow 88 thugs. There were Chinese-appearing men on the staff, but after some facial recognition work, Akira Tokaido had been able to determine that they were actually Kyrgyz separatists, picked for their resemblance to regular Chinese, despite having Turkic roots.

That meant that this group was East Turkestan separatists. Price remembered that members of one of those groups were responsible for a mass stabbing back in early 2014. Dozens died and hundreds had been murdered by an organized, focused mob of knife-wielding maniacs in China. It was news worldwide. This group’s tattoos identified them as East Turkestan Freedom—ETF.

Besides the Moscow 88 and the ETF, there were also Syrian rebels, Colombians and Vietnamese. Most of this information received courtesy of Lyons’s buddying up with Grigori, and confirmed by facial recognition through Schwarz’s photography of the guard staff.
