It was time for Maleek Washington and Jennifer Florentino to get in on the action. It was too late to travel far, so we started looking at the Broadway theaters near Times Square. I found a cheeky sign that could add some humor to the shot, and I suggested we try a playfully sexy pose with all four of them. The beauty and mixed ethnicities of the performers inspired me, but everyone was freezing and exhausted, so I worried we wouldn’t have the time to construct a killer pose. It turns out my concern was unnecessary—artists this good don’t need much time. We arrived at the theater at 2:30 a.m., and by 2:50 a.m. they were running into position.
