For the remainder of the week, the prospect of the weekend hung over their heads but neither of them brought it up. Richard gave her a desk directly outside of his office and Lea performed her assistant duties admirably — organizing his e-mail, transferring phone calls, arriving with two steaming cups of coffee, one for Richard, the other for her.

Every morning she stood to the right of his desk as Richard pushed his hand beneath her dress or skirt, fingers brushing against her exposed clit, no underwear to shield his touch. Unlike her first day, he never touched himself, just sent her on her way with a soft smack to her ass.

She’d planned on following Richard’s instruction, staying home and twiddling her thumbs as he ventured out the city to meet with Henry, but on Thursday night, plagued with a bout of nightmares, she removed herself from bed and changed her mind.

Lea used the password protected website, sent to her previously by Monica, to narrow down where Richard’s old pack might reside. All packs had to register their whereabouts and in Massachusetts there were three main areas of congregation. While it wasn’t close to Horseneck Beach, Freetown-Fall River State Forest was the closest area where a pack had registered.

She had to take a chance, to right the wrong she’d done to Henry, leaving him in that monster’s clutches. She would stay out of sight and if she happened to run into Richard, her boss would have to understand. Her guilt was too heavy for him not to.

Friday afternoon, when the rest of the office had gone home for the day, Richard called her into his office, made her kneel at his feet and stuck a folded check in her mouth. She peeled it open, eyes widening at the amount. Nine hundred dollars for one week of work.

“You can speak,” Richard said, raising a smug eyebrow.

“I thought…” She cleared her throat. “I’m supposed to owe you money. I didn’t expect to get paid.”

Richard leaned back in his leather office chair, legs comfortably parted as Lea knelt between them. “How did you plan on paying your rent with no income?”

Lea shrugged. “I hadn’t thought about it.” She was too busy having her eyes opened about the existence of shifters and now, the news her ex-boyfriend wasn’t dead.

“Well now you don’t have to. I doubt that shit hole you live in costs more than that but if it does…”

“It doesn’t. Thank you.”

Richard nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He brushed Lea’s hair from her face, tucked a blond strand behind her ear, ran his thumb along the crease of her brow. He’d been teasing her all week, and though her mind was split between worry and fear of the upcoming weekend, she couldn’t ignore her carnal desire to be touched and pleasured.
