Chapter 6

I WAS SETTLING nicely into my life with Trevor in L.A. His Hollywood Hills mansion was even more stunning than his Lincoln Park Penthouse. It was weird not living in Chicago anymore. And it was even stranger not having to do anything for myself. Even though it took a little effort, I readjusted to having access to Trevor’s staff, his fine cuisine and all of his toys within a matter of days. I came from nothing, but sometimes I felt like I was born to be with a billionaire. At least that’s what Trevor kept putting in my head. I had been living with Trevor for almost two weeks, and there was never a dull moment. Even though I wasn’t working yet, there was plenty to keep me occupied. We hung out in his outdoor hot tub, drinking champagne, almost every night after he got off of work. I enjoyed being able to go outside in the winter. I really loved that there was no snow on the ground. Trevor took me for a spin in his limited edition LaFerrari whenever he had the chance. He loved how I would squeal every time he made the car go from standing still to over sixty miles per hour in a matter of seconds. It was the fastest car I’d ever been in. There were times I thought we were going to lift off the ground and start flying. Trevor was an excellent driver. I was impressed by the way he was able to handle a car with so much horsepower. Everything with Trevor was fast and exciting, not just his cars.

It was two days before Valentine’s Day and I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep. Trevor told me he had a surprise for me before I even moved out here. I spent days trying to guess but he wouldn’t even give me a hint. He finally told me what he had in store once I’d gotten settled in. He planned a vacation to Hawaii to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and to commemorate my acceptance of the position on Rock Hard TV. He said he had a beach home and a yacht there he wanted to show me. I’d never been to Hawaii, so I almost fainted when he told me that’s what my surprise was. I’d just quit my job, and left my cramped one-bedroom apartment and the brutal Chicago winter behind, to start a life with the man I loved in glamorous Los Angeles, California. Not only was I the girlfriend of a man who was larger than life, I was going to be a star in my own right. I had my first on-air appearance in just a couple of weeks. And in less than twenty-four hours we were going to be in Hawaii. Life was happening so fast; I felt like I was on a roller coaster.
