Cembran was holding a dying lamb and Travis comforted him. Gathod reached to the lamb and concentrated.

“Baahh.” The lamb moved and licked Cembran’s face before squirming from his arms and running into the field to its mother. When Travis looked up this time, the self-satisfied look was gone from the Baccharist’s face.

Travis was feeling very tired; the challenge was definitely taking a toll on him. He looked at Cembran’s loving face for support and felt a surge of energy radiate through him as though a reservoir containing inner peace and strength had been released, and he could almost feel Gathod, Jim, and Sue sending him their good thoughts, too.

Cembran and Gathod were together in a small shelter. Cembran reached to Gathod, slowly removing his clothes, before slipping off his own clothing. They kissed deeply and lovingly as their bodies moved together. Gathod entered Cembran slowly and gently, their union spirited, quiet, their passion evident. Travis was filled with feelings of jealousy. He’d known about Cembran and Gathod, but to see them together was almost too much. As the memories of that night flooded through Travis, the jealousy evaporated; Cembran loved him and only him. Travis concentrated, blocking out all other thoughts.
