Taboo Spying in the Bedroom

I knew I shouldn’t be in here. My brother had told me many times not to go into his room when he wasn’t around. But I needed to borrow his iPad. He wouldn’t like that either, since he told me to never touch it. But I needed to use it, and what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. He was visiting his friend, and probably wouldn’t be back for a few hours.

I had gotten used to being the only child for the past two school years, while my older brother and sister were away at college. They had just come home this past weekend from their separate colleges.

But my days of having the house to myself were coming to an end, since I’d be going off to college myself in the fall.

My brother, Sean, and my sister Olivia, were both two years older than me, but not twins. How is that possible? Because Sean is our stepbrother.

Our parents got married back when he was twelve, and we’ve all been brothers and sisters ever since. Because he and Olivia were the same age, they were always doing stuff together and leaving me out of it. Even though she was my real sister, she was closer to him than she was to me.

I guess that made me the pesky little sister, and I certainly lived up to that billing. I would always try to hang around with them, and they’d get annoyed and tell me to get lost. They were always scheming behind my back, figuring out ways to lose me.

They were still like that. Olivia was allowed to go in Sean’s room whenever she wanted, but it was off limits to me. And she could borrow any of his stuff without even asking, but if I tried that, he would be like, “Kim! Stay out of my things!”

It just wasn’t fair.

Which is why I was in here, borrowing his iPad without asking. Because if I did ask, the answer would be no. This way, he’d never know, and he wouldn’t get upset. I was doing him a favor.

Now, where was it? I checked the drawers of his dresser with no luck. Then I looked on the shelves of his closet, but it wasn’t there either. Maybe he took it with him?

I was about to give up, when I remembered his nightstand. Sitting on the bed, I pulled open the drawer.

Yes! There it was, right on top of all the junk. I snatched it up and was about to close the drawer when I noticed something else.

It was a box of condoms. Huh, that was weird. Why would he have condoms in his room? It would make sense if they were in his car, since that’s where he spent most of his time with the girls he dated. Some of the girls in my grade had dated him back when he was a senior in high school, and they said his favorite place to make out was parking up on Ridgeline Road.
